Super Junior's Kangin will go on a hiatus until the end of the year.
SM Entertainment released a statement on the 18th saying, "For now, we don't think Kangin can work as a member of Super Junior until later on. Even his fans are disappointed so until the end of the year, he will take a break to think about what he did."
After two big accidents, netizens are angry at Kangin for his careless actions. It would be difficult for him to return on TV shortly after these events.
The police have talked with Kangin, but a lengthier investigation process is in order.
Kangin did not only disappoint his fans but also his members. Leeteuk wrote short but meaningful things on his minihompy, to show how he's feeling about the situation.
The good news is that he is not leaving the group as of yet. Kangin will just not be part of the groups activities until the end of the year, but who knows how everything will turn out, it is still premature to come to a conclusion.
__________________________________________________________After the DUI accident involving Super Junior's Kangin earlier today, the idol himself has released an official apology, while SM Entertainment has done likewise.
Kangin wrote:
This is Kangin. I have nothing else to do but to apologize thousands and tens of thousands times. I should've been more careful after the incident last time but I let you guys down again.
And I can't seem to lift my head.
After the last incident, I felt pain day and night thinking I disappointed people. But as soon as I was about to lose a little of that pain, another incident occurs.
I'm so sorry and I'm sorry again.
I'm so embarrassed for showing this kind of behavior in front of fans that have always supported me. I should've been more careful thinking about my fans but I have so much resentment for what I did.
And, my members from Lee Teuk to Kyuhyun, because of the last incident, I felt like I was a burden to my members but I have done it again to them so I can't even look at them. They are family to me and I can't stand the fact that I am hurting them like this. Also, to my SM family, I'm sorry. To everyone, I want to put my head down, bow, and say sorry once more.
SM also wrote:
We feel so bad about what has just happened with Kangin. We want to apologize to everyone who feel disappointed about this. We feel this is time for Kangin and us to think over what happened and try our hardest to not let this happen again.
Kangin must feel so horrible for letting everyone down. He will head down to the police station on the 17th for his second round of investigations.

Super Junior's leader, Leeteuk, has put one word on his minihompy that has caused people to think it was about Kangin regarding the recent DUI accident.
On the 18th, Leeteuk posted in the diary of his minihompy, "...Idiot..." He also wrote on the main page, "Longing. That describes my emotions today. I will pray."
Because Leeteuk is the leader of the group, Leeteuk must feel partly responsible and embarrassed of what has happened. Fans have been saying this is aimed at Kangin.
It is pretty obvious that he is speaking about Kangin since these posts were made after the accident. Leeteuk must be feeling many emotions as well. But I don't think he said "idiot" because he was angry. I think it was because he feels bad that Kangin has to go through another dramatic situation so soon.
Fans replied to Leeteuk saying, "Let's be strong in this situation," "I'm sorry. We will protect Super Junior," "We will protect Kangin."
All the members must have mixed feelings of disappointment and sympathy.
____________________________________________________________Update #2: An official apology has just been posted on the SMTown website at 6.24pm as Kangin expressed his deep regrets for his actions. He is sorry to those who had been behind him all this while and is sorry for disappointing them. He also said sorry to his fans and his fellow Super Junior members. Kangin who was scheduled to turn up for investigations at 2pm on the 16th, will postpone it to tomorrow, 17th because of the intense media scrutiny.
Read the full apology statement.
=============================
Update #1: Kangin who had been ordered to turn for a second investigation at 2pm, did not turn up as scheduled at the police station. Efforts by police to contact him was to no avail as Kangin's phone was turned off. Investigations are ongoing.
=============================
Super Junior member Kangin just can't seem to stay out of trouble. After promising that he would not cause any more problems, he gets slapped with a case of DUI.
At 3:10am on the 16th, an intoxicated Kangin crashed into a parked taxi at the junction of Nonhyun and Hakdong in Gangnam and abandoned his car before running away.
There were two passengers along with the cab driver involved in the accident although it was fortunate that no one suffered any major injuries.
Although Kangin had abandoned the scene of the accident, he turned himself in at the Gangnam police station at 8:50am. It was reported that his BAC level was 0.082%, but that was 6 hours after the accident, so it's an inaccurate reflection of his intoxication.
A representative from the police station stated:"We can take into consideration the fact that Kangin has confessed, even though it was some time after the incident. However, since he had fled the scene after the accident, we have to consider it as a hit and run. We will release more information in the afternoon."
